Warsaw, IN, March 31, 2023- Medartis, a specialized orthopedic company for upper and lower extremity surgery, today announced the full commercial launch of its LapiPrep Lapidus Correction and Preparation System to the U.S. market.
The LapiPrep system, which has been in limited launch since Q3 of last year, allows surgeons to continuously adjust all three planes of deformity (IM angle, frontal plane rotation, sagittal alignment) while providing compression/distraction. Correction is held in place by stable screws within the dorsal jig, allowing the procedure to be performed with only one set of hands.
Initial results have been favorable, according to surgeons part of the limited launch. Brett D. Sachs, DPM, FACFAS, Wheat Ridge, CO, shared his impressions of the system.
