Medartis, a specialized orthopaedic company for head and extremity surgery, announced that it has entered into an exclusive global distribution partnership with the Australian-based Field Orthopaedics. This strategic partnership will include the addition of the NX Nail system to Medartis’ comprehensive hand portfolio.
This strategic alliance will enable Medartis to further leverage the NX Nail’s intraosseous, minimally invasive treatment options for fractures of the metacarpal and phalanx. This agreement will provide additional growth opportunities in the US extremities market and potentially in additional markets.
The NX Nail system is a complementary product to the Medartis plating systems and CCS screw portfolio. The role of this implant is to rigidly fix bone fragments in space while crossing the fracture to act as a strut. The NX Nail acts as a physiological splint, designed to withstand normal loads and to facilitate rapid return to normal activity. The company plans to begin distributing the products in Q4 2022.
